Keeps falling apart Mar 09, 2010 The ball keeps coming apart when I place the Zhu Zhu pet inside. Also the pet keeps getting hung up on the small plate and eventually the small plate falls out. Overall, this toy is worthless.
Good idea, but not very durable Mar 09, 2010 This product looked like it would be fun for my daughter, but the pieces do not connect together well. The ball falls apart easily and the plastic piece that is supposed to allow the Zhu Zhu pet to move the ball does not stay on. Overall, disappointed with this product.
Flimsy & doesn't stay together Mar 04, 2010 I put the ball together. The little nobs that you are supposed to match up do not match up well. The nobs are not big enough and just fall off and the tabs that you bind together come undone easily. I have a lot of patience but was ready to throw this away! With some assistance on getting it to stay together, I grabbed clear tape and secured the seams with it and it seems to be staying put! It comes with a "stabilizer" to put on the hamster so he doesn't tip in the ball, and it doesn't work well at all. It just sits there and you hope it will stay put. Then you have to put the hamster in the ball, and push the button and try and get the lid on without the "stabilizer" coming off. Once he gets going, it is very cute! But if you bump it around, the hamster falls over. Other times the hamster just falls over randomly and it's useless. This was the biggest disappointment and is just made too cheaply. My 4 year old used it once and properly exclaimed, "THIS IS CRAP". Don't waste your money on the ball. Get something else.
Ball won't stay together - hamsters fall over inside Feb 25, 2010 This is by far the worst of the Zhu-Zhu Pets accessories that we own. The ball wouldn't go together very well, even when the arrows were lined up perfectly. Once it was put together it came apart several times before we were finally able to get it to stick. We got one of the later releases that came with a "support bar" - a small plastic bib that resembles a train's cattle guard. This bit is supposed to help the hamster stay upright but it doesn't seem to help that much as our hamsters still fall over all the time.
The door to put the hamster into the ball is tricky to operate -- it looks like a real hamster ball's door but isn't nearly as easy to open or shut. Every time we used it, the ball ended up coming apart. Now we don't even bother with the door, we just assemble the ball around the hamster. But my kids have more fun with this toy by using the halves as helmets than the frustrating exercise of trying to get the hamster to run around in it.
zhu zhu ball falls apart.... Feb 08, 2010 You can use this without the piece previous posters have mentioned, because I never even saw the piece the kids opened it so quick. It has to be put together by an adult for sure, and you will be putting it together a lot because it falls apart constantly. Annoying to get the lid on when the pet is already moving, and the zhu zhu falls over constantly. We're happy w/ our pets and w/ the car but not this ball! I think I may take a previous posters advice of supergluing the ball so it won't fall apart....
