I bought this for my son, who asked to be Shadow for Halloween in 2009 (my other son was Sonic, but Amazon didn't have that in-stock). It arrived quickly, and in plenty of time for him to wear it to 3 parties and trick-or-treating. I was a little leery of washing it, so I waited until after Halloween and all the parties to do so (the Sonic & Shadow hats seemed to be made similarly, so I washed them at the same time). It turns out, I need not have worried! ^_^ Both hats held up great, though they did lose a bit of the "stiffness" that holds the ears up. I've since washed them numerous times, and they are in great condition. The color has held up, none of the colors have run, and none of the stitching has come apart. (I should note that I have a front-load washer, which doesn't have an agitator like top-load washers) We've now owned the hats for almost 2 years, and they almost look brand-new.

My nephew wore out the first hat I purchased because he wore it night and day, even weating it to bed. The hat is well made and he loves it. Gives him confidence when he wears it. Would recommend for any one with young Sonic Fans.

This Shadow The Hedgehog cap is great for Halloween costumes, alone or with a red/black shirt. It does not go on like a ski mask, it's a cap after all. I would recommend this for any Sonic The Hedgehog fans who can't afford the Knuckles Costume, which is not complete without the gloves apparently. I didn't give it a good educational value because it not educational. Now if only we would stop loosing it. :p
