Rise of the Eldrazi is a fun and interesting set. It goes beyond the bounds of other magic the gathering sets and can make for some highly competitive decks. I do think that on whole the set uses leveling and anhilation too much, making it too common and powerful for most other sets. This can be a problem depending on the opponent only because the games can end before other decks even get started. This is offset only by being fairly predictable and thus easy to counter with the right deck.
Note regarding basic lands May 03, 2012

This is a good set, and still a pretty decent buy at the current price. However, please note that the basic land cards included in the Rise of the Eldrazi Fat Pack are NOT the full-frame art versions. If you're looking for a way to stock up on those, this isn't it, unfortunately.
