Favorite Gundam, awesome kit!! Aug 13, 2009

As my favorite mecha in the Gundam 00 anime series, this Kyrios model did not disappoint. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the model itself snaps together without glue or much hassle (especially for a newbie like me). It also comes with a full array of accessories: the GN rifle, arm shield with GN sword, beam sabers with beams, and two snap-on mounting posts (one for mech mode, one for flight). The model itself is highly detailed and accurate, which is definitely worth highlighting with a touch of paint (or Sharpie, in my case). Transforming it from mech mode to flight mode isn't difficult once you get the hang of it.
The model does have its downsides though. It can't do a wide variety of battle poses in mech mode, mostly because the black-grey forward fuselage for flight mode has to be flipped over the back of the figure and sticks so far out that the center of gravity is thrown off - but that's more a fault of the mech's original design than the model. Furthermore, the feet don't have the greatest range of motion (because they have to transform) so stabilizing the mech is a very tricky and somewhat delicate matter. The model also isn't the sturdiest thing in the universe (minor accessory pieces do fall off if you fiddle with it a lot), but it's still an excellent kit.
Overall, I am not disappointed in this kit. My favorite Gundam is easily my favorite model. Because of the balance issues, I do highly recommend a stand to display it: Gundam Action Display Base Stand (Black). Plus, it looks awesome mounted in flight mode and taking off from your shelf. (And awfully tempting to pick it up and fly it around the room.)
A definite must-have for any Celestial Being armada!

This is my first of the 4 "Hero" gundams from 00. I think I messed up by building my favotire first now I will be disapointed by the rest. ;)
In all seriousness though it is a very good kit, definately will need painting to bring out the best in it but for a non MG kit I could not be happier.

Even if you're not a follower of the series "Mobile Suit Gundam 00", you'll find that Gundam Kyrios is an excellent addition to your models. The additional joints allow for a range of poses that vastly outdoes older models (for example, the High-Grade Endless Waltz 1:100 Model sets) and leaves you with a warm, tingly feeling when it's done.
A word of warning- will require at least four hours for completion. If time is no concern, do it in one sitting- you'll enjoy every minute.

I recently got the kit as a gift. Its my third 1/100th ng Gundam 00 from season one. I am very happy with it. If you want to break into the hobby I suggest this one or the ng Exia.

Bandai's Gundam 00 models are great, high quality, detailed, and fun kits. This is a transforming mobile suit, nicely detailed and sturdy (it can stand in most poses with-out assistance). Now I prefer master grade kits but these new no-grades,and high grade kits in 1/100 or 1/144 scale are great in detail and time it takes to assemble. My 3 year old daughter loves to watch me put one together, she names parts and most of the time she can tell where they go not having seen the anime from which they came. Young kids and adults can enjoy any gundam model, the experience of construction, and painting if one wants to (though is not necessary, detailing with gundam markers, and taymia paints sure so make them look nice)is truly awesome, cause once your done you have an action figure. Back to the kit, Kyrios is spot on for show accuracy, both in mobile armor (plane)mode and as a mobile suit. Excellent range of motion in the joints. I do recommend getting a gundam action base if you want to display it transformed since it has no landing gear. This is a great kit for modelers of any age and experience and if you have never done gundam (gunpla) models before I would recommend this kit along with Exia.
