Final Fantasy Dissidia Zidane Tribal Action Figure

WARNING:
CHOKING HAZARD -- Small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.

Imported from Japan! The worlds of Square Enix's Final Fantasy games collide in the action game, Dissidia: Final Fantasy for the Sony PSP to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the series' debut. The first set of figures based upon Dissidia feature five of the heroes who fought on Cosmos's side: Cloud Strife, Squall Lionheart, Zidane Tribal, and Tidus. While characters like Squall, Cloud and Tidus resembles their original Final Fantasy counterparts closely, Final Fantasy IX's Zidane finally receives the detailed makeover that the latest generation of video game consoles can create. Each non-poseable figure stands between 4 1/2' and 6' tall.

2Nice figure, except for the tons of flaws...  Feb 21, 2011
By Kelly Wilson "Ravenwolf"
Let me start off by saying this: Between my own experience and what I've looked up online: Your mileage may vary. I bought from a third-party seller, so it may be a counterfeit; hopefully that's why there seem to be so many mistakes on my Zidane. (I'm sorry Zidane, I didn't mean to say that you're a mistake; I love you.)

The painting in some areas is pretty sloppy. Most notably, he doesn't have a mouth, the silver on the belts is pretty bad, and the decorations on his tie-thing are just a big blotch. Plus, his pose is different from in the stock picture. I uploaded a bunch of photos for you to see what I mean; they're the ones with the black background, but basically his left arm is a little different, and his tail won't stay up like it is in the picture. I can bend him a bit (the material is a lot more rubbery than I expected), but he mostly just falls back into place where he was. The mold is a little off in some places; his hair is very chunky, and there are little seams all over, and a big seam down the side of his pants. The platform he came with is a little wobbly, too.

Now, my experience with these kinds of figures is limited. All of the other ones I own are from Namco's Tales series, the figures by Kotobukiya. Granted, I'd expect to pay a little more for Final Fantasy, being that it's more popular, but I found got my Tales characters for seven to twelve dollars, and they're about the same size, and frankly much nicer. No defects, and they're made of a much nicer plastic.

I'm making him sound terrible, though. It's really not all bad, really. There is a lot of nice detailing on him for the price, still, and the painting is nice where it's not messed up. I don't regret buying this, but I was a little disappointed, so consider this review a word of caution, not condemnation. Look at the pictures and decide for yourself.
