5Great gift item!  Aug 04, 2008
By avid reader "dee"
I was raised with a shut the box game and that's how I learned how to add in my head. When my father died, I got his game. I now have three of these (9, 10, and 12) but this is my first shut the box for two players. I know I hated waiting around for my turn when I was a kid so now the grandkids won't have to wait and they will learn math the same way I did!

5Lots of fun!  Mar 28, 2008

Recently, we went to a party and played this game with adults. We added money to a "pot" and whomever had the lowest amount of points won the pot for the hand. It was lots of fun but at the same time, we are looking forward to using it to teach our son numbers and addition. Lots of fun.

Play alone or with teams .... it's fun to play sets up to a max score. Great way to get kids to think out number combinations while they are having fun. I recommend

This game is well built. Just wish it came with a cover, might modify one if I find the right material. Simple and fun game.

5Fun for kids and adults  Dec 27, 2010

The rules say to add to shut the box. I think it would be fun to create some other math options too.
