3Looks nice but not functional as a watch  Jul 20, 2008
By Wendy M
It looks very nice and pretty as a prop, but functionally it isn't the best. It is too easy to press the button on the side accidentally and cause it to start making noises. I think maybe they should have designed it so that it will only make a noise if you press the button when it's open. Also, I thought I would be able to use this as a real watch as well, but it doesn't keep time accurately at all. The second hand was sticking, and when I looked at it the next day it was off by hours.

3PLASTIC  Oct 01, 2008
By M. Schmitt
Wish the manufacturer would've used a metal casing - tin, anything, rather than plastic. Voice sound quality poor (musical greeting cards have a sharper quality). Time piece works.
Looks nice - feels cheap - cost more than it was worth.

3review  Jul 07, 2008

First off i love the detail and designs on this watch. And i love to hit the button that makes the noise. And i love the fact that it actually tells time. It's just a fun toy.

But i do have to say it cost more than it's worth. And i wish the watch was not plastic. And the button on the side that makes nose is easy to hit and always go's off, if your not care full. So don't bring it to class like I do and make the teacher mad because you have the doctor's voice coming from your jacket pocket.

2$46 Bit of Plastic  Mar 02, 2009
By MiseryDisdain
The picture makes it look like an actual fob watch, it is not. The chain is the only metal part on this watch. The voice and sounds that come from it sound like they were recorded in a metal trash can and are being played back through a speaker wrapped in cellophane. I am so disappointed in what a piece of junk this thing is. This thing should be sold for $[...] not $[...]! I gets 2 stars for at least having the Dr. Who design on it and because it can possibly be used as a prop.

1Don't waste your money  Feb 17, 2012
By Thomas Keeler
The case is a cheap-feeling plastic. Nicely detailed, but too delicate for a toy or reliable costume piece, let alone a real watch.

The hinge on the lid is loose, so the clamshell wiggles a little when open. It won't take much pressure to permanently break it off.

The watch mechanism itself must have come from the lowest bidder, or it works on some alien planet's time. Don't expect to use it as a real timepiece.

There is only one sound effect, it's a grainy, high-pitched, and often-indecipherable recording from the two-part episode "Human Nature" and "Family of Blood," where the original fob watch was used.

If you absolutely MUST have one of these to complete a Tenth Doctor costume, look for one on clearance discount. It's not a prominent prop except for three episodes, and not worth the money at all. Expect to break it if you wear it or allow a child to play with it. It gets two stars for 'fun' factor only because the appearance at a glance is reasonably accurate to the prop.
